Oct 10, 2006 · Hi all. Newbie here. I need a little help with an IP address conflict problem. I have a PC and notebook networked in my home through a wireless network - using Netgear equipment. Everything has worked fine until today, when I received the IP address conflict message - effectively disabling the PC from connecting through the wireless router. Any device with it's networking set to defaults should get an address automatically. The only reasons your NAS (Network Attached Storage) would not get an address automatically would be if the DHCP server on the 7550 has been disabled or DHCP on the NAS has been disabled or there is a physical problem with the RJ45 ports on either device or a defective Ethernet cable. By default, the IP Address of a Linksys router is 192.168.1.1. Changing your router's IP Address is useful for certain scenarios such as preventing IP Address conflicts with your router and modem or when connecting your router to another router. The IP address of the old Router was 192.168.0.1. The new Router is 10.0.0.1. My Netgear Router I had set up in Router Mode cause I wanted to use it to trick some of my devices to think they were in the US. Before my new shaw router was installed, everything worked.
